BIOGRAPHY

Anastasios Veloudis is an interdisciplinary visual artist born in Greece, who lives and works in Brighton and London, UK. He studied fine arts, structural engineer design, graphic design and in 2013 he received his Master of Arts in New Media from the University of Brighton.

His numerous group exhibitions and residencies include the contemporary art course exhibition at Royal College of Art in London, the Art on Campus at St. Gallen University in Switzerland and the INSPIRE project with Peter Kogler at the contemporary art museum in Thessaloniki, Greece.

Veloudis has been commissioned by the MOMus museum and Goethe institute in Greece for the anniversary exhibition for the 100 years of Joseph Beuys. His work META-RECORDS is part of the collection of the contemporary art museum in Thessaloniki, Greece.

His art practice has been constantly drawn towards abstraction and non-literal, metaphoric forms inspired by his affinity to spirituality and esoterism. He practices with a variety of tools, from action painting on paper and collage to installation and video. Duality is ever-present in Anastasios’ work – combining dynamic geometrical shapes with organic, free-flowing forms as a result of spontaneous and automatic painting. His work seems to challenge the balance between tranquillity and chaos. In his installations, he celebrates the nature of used materials reinventing their use, form, and character.
